TamTam SVN SCC is a Microsoft Source Code Control Interface (MSSCCI) compliant plugin developed by Fieldston Software. It allows you to seamlessly bridge the gap between Subversion (SVN) repositories and legacy or modern Windows applications that strictly depend on the classic Microsoft SCC API.
By establishing this integration, developers can execute standard version control actions directly within their preferred IDE without needing a standalone client like TortoiseSVN. Prerequisites
Before you start the integration process, ensure you have the following installed on your machine:
The Host IDE / Tool: A Microsoft SCC-compliant host application (e.g., Microsoft Visual Studio Professional, MATLAB, FoxPro, PowerGUI Pro, or TestStand).
Subversion Client: A command-line Subversion client (v1.7.8 or higher is recommended) containing svn.exe. TamTam SVN SCC: The installer from Fieldston Software. Step-by-Step Integration Guide 1. Link TamTam to your SVN Client
Once you have installed TamTam SVN SCC, you must first direct it to your local Subversion engine:
Open your host application or the standalone SCCSwitcher utility bundled with the TamTam software.
Navigate to the TamTam SVN SCC Options / Configuration menu. Locate the SVN Executables setting.
Browse and select the absolute path to your command-line Subversion file (usually C:\Program Files\Subversion\bin\svn.exe or equivalent). 2. Select TamTam as your Active SCC Provider
Next, tell your development environment to look through the TamTam plugin for source control operations:
Open your IDE or target host program (e.g., PowerGUI Pro or Visual Studio).
Go to Tools > Options (or Station Options depending on the software). Locate the Version Control / Source Control tab.
In the Current Provider / SCC Provider drop-down menu, select TamTam SVN SCC. Click Apply or OK. 3. Bind and Manage Your Project
With the connection bridged, your project files can be bound natively: TamTam SVN SCC (Subversion) – Fieldston Software
